Regional Steak

Regional Steak is a typical dish from the island of São Miguel. The combination of flavour and quality ingredients makes this dish a true gastronomic experience.


  • 1 veal steak;
  • ½ tannery pepper;
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1 bay leaf;
  • 50 ml of dry white wine;
  • Oil q.s.;
  • 1 knob of salted butter;
  • Salt q.s.;
  • Dona Graça’s Ground Pepper q.s.


  • Heat a non-stick frying pan with a drizzle of oil;
  • Grill the steak on both sides as per your preference;
  • Season with salt and pepper q.s.;
  • Add the sliced garlic and bay leaf to the skillet;
  • Shower with the white wine and let it evaporate a little;
  • Add ground pepper;
  • Add the butter and stir with a wooden spoon until you get a creamy, glossy sauce;
  • Place the steak on a plate and water it with the skillet sauce;
  • Serve hot, accompanied by fries.
